Overview

What is KYC?

KYC is a one-time identity and address verification required by SEBI before you invest in mutual funds and other securities. Once your KYC is registered with a KYC Registration Agency (KRA), it works across all fund houses and intermediaries.

Overview

What is FATCA / CRS?

FATCA and CRS are global tax-reporting rules. Every investor declares their country of tax residence; investors who are tax residents of other countries also share their tax identification number. Most fund houses collect this in the application or a one-page declaration.

FAQs

Questions, answered

Is KYC a one-time process?
Yes. Once your KYC is registered and validated with a KRA, you do not repeat it for each fund house. You only update it when your details change.
How long does KYC take?
Online e-KYC with an Aadhaar OTP is usually completed within a few working days, once the KRA verifies it.
What if my KYC is "on hold"?
It usually means a detail needs correcting, such as a mismatch with your PAN or Aadhaar. We help you submit the correction.
Do NRIs need to give FATCA details?
Yes. NRIs and anyone who is a tax resident outside India must provide their country of tax residence and tax identification number.
Can I update my address or mobile number?
Yes, through a KYC modification request with supporting documents. The updated details then apply across your folios.
