Asset Allocation

Equity · Debt · Gold · Cash

How you divide your money between equity, debt, gold and cash shapes most of your portfolio's long-term behaviour. We match your mix to your risk profile and rebalance it so it stays on target.

What Each Asset Does

Equity

The growth engine over long periods, with the most short-term volatility.

Debt

Stability and regular income; it cushions the portfolio when equity falls.

Gold

A diversifier that has often held value during crises and currency weakness.

Cash & Liquid

Ready money for emergencies and near-term needs.

Overview

Why Rebalance?

Markets pull your mix away from its target. After a strong rally, a balanced portfolio may drift to 65% equity and carry more risk than you signed up for. Rebalancing trims what has grown and tops up what has lagged, so you sell high, buy low and stay within your comfort zone. We always consider taxes and exit loads before rebalancing.

FAQs

Questions, answered

Is the model mix fixed?
No. It is a starting point, adjusted for your goals, existing holdings, tax position and liquidity needs.
How often should I rebalance?
Usually once a year, or when any asset class drifts more than about 5 percentage points from its target.
Do hybrid funds help?
Balanced advantage and multi-asset funds rebalance inside the fund, which can be convenient and tax-efficient. We use them where they fit.
Where does real estate fit?
Property is usually a large, illiquid holding. We consider it in your overall wealth picture but keep the investable portfolio liquid.
Does asset allocation guarantee returns?
No. It manages risk and improves consistency, but all market-linked investments can lose value.
